He loves fencing and horseback riding, so anyone who shares those interests would totally be on Nate’s good side. He’s extremely studious and takes being a butler very seriously – the only reason he’s not level F is because he’s too willing to be honest with his lady, even if the truth isn’t what she wants to hear. It would be great if he had a friendly rival in something – maybe in fencing, horseback riding or just being a butler in general – he’s very competitive so that’d be super fun. Nate also needs friends who are able to drag him out and get him to do something fun for a change. He’s very “business as usual” and needs people to go drag him to a movie or something, otherwise he’ll just sit around studying or practicing or something – and no one wants that! He's a little guarded when you first meet him, and will normally rebuff someone’s attempt at friendship with sarcasm and snarky comments, but if you’re persistent, you might just be able to break through. Despite everything though, he’s ever the gentleman – he likes brewing tea and reading poetry, and secretly loves gardening – he’s a gentle guy, really! If you’re someone who would have a problem with someone else just telling it like it is – brutally so – then Nate and you might not be the best of friends. He despises slovenly attitudes, and people who are messy in general – he’s a bit of a neat freak, so if he sees someone making a mess or disorganizing his stuff, he’s bound to hold a grudge until the end of time. He’s not belligerent persay, just argumentative and aggressive – he’s not someone who can be pushed around easily, and anyone who even bothers to try will find out quickly that they’re not going to win this debate. Granted, Nate does love a good debate – but it would be great if he had a bitter rival when it came to something – maybe just being a butler in general. He is a subtle flirt, and he’s more into trying to build a relationship that fooling around. If he will normally flirt with anyone who catches his eye – but he’s incredibly picky, so it’s not like that happens often. He’s is the romantic type – someone who courts with flowers and gentlemanly grace, even if that person he’s courting his a man. Granted, he can sometimes be incredibly foolish when he’s infatuated – he gets flustered easily and loses that “calm, cool and collected” attitude that he normally exudes. He has been in only one relationship before, and that person ended up breaking his heart. It would be interesting if someone wants to play his ex-boyfriend, someone who Nate is still hung up over despite everything. He is trying to move on though – it’s been a year since it happened. It’d be great if he could have a childhood friend, someone who knows the truth behind Nate’s past, someone who he can actually trust. I can also see him acting as a mentor to a more inexperienced butler, if they need help with the rules of butler etiquette or what have you. Despite everything, he does feel a bond of camaraderie for his other fellow butlers, and as long as they’re peaceable and respectful, he wouldn’t mind helping a butler out. It would also be cool if a someone, maybe a lady needed a tutor for something – Nate is incredibly intellectual and he makes a damn good teacher, so if someone needed help with that, he’d be willing to jump to the plate. All in all, if you have any other ideas, let me know!
